This course is specially designed for those who are keen to take their conflict resolution to the next level. We are going to cover a lot in this course regarding conflicts, conflict stereotypes, how should we deal with conflicts, and most importantly we will also discuss the 5 important conflict management styles.

Course Content

Topic 1: Basics of Conflict
In this topic, we are going to learn about some of the basics of conflicts to understand the term conflict better in order to understand what it is and the stereotypes around the term itself.

  • Understanding conflict
  • Conflict stereotypes
  • Why can conflict be a good thing?

Topic 2: Conflict management styles and when to use them
Since we have already understood what conflict is and the stereotypes around the word, let’s discuss about how we can resolve conflicts which is exactly what we will cover in this topic. We are going to discuss the 5 main conflict management styles and when to use them properly. According to the Thomas-Kilmann, there are five key styles for managing conflict: competing, accommodating, avoiding, compromising and collaborating.

Topic 3 : Dealing with conflict in the workplace
In this topic, we are going to look at conflict specifically in your professional life. As mentioned in the Workplace Skills course, we spend at least 1/3 of our time work which is why it is important that we know how to deal with them in order to achieve a good work place relationship.
